Linear Motion System; Moves Goods in a Linear Fashion for a Wide Variety of Applications
A linear motion system is a specialized machine used in the mechanical system to convert rotary motion into a linear motion. The system consists of a rotary motor combined with a mechanical actuator that converts the rotary motion of the motor to linear motion. A linear actuator is a device that moves between two points in a linear motion. Linear actuators are available based on a variety of technologies, such as mechanical, electro-mechanical, direct electric (linear motors), hydraulic, and pneumatic.
A linear motion system moves goods in a linear
fashion for a wide variety of applications such as packaging, transportation,
material handling, and manufacturing. These systems are used across various
industries as they can handle industrial processes such as product
transportation, packaging, and moving other goods. The system refers to the
automatic machine mostly used to move loads. Linear rails and linear actuators
are often used to control movements with different variables and complexity.
Linear
motors can achieve high acceleration rates and long travel lengths with good thrust force and extremely high positioning accuracy, while other drive
mechanisms, such as screws, belts, or rack and pinions, must sacrifice at least
one of these requirements in order to achieve the others. Because a linear
actuator can be used to either push or pull with the same force, its applications
involve lifting, lowering, sliding, adjusting, & tilting objects.
Linear
Motion System eliminates the use of mechanical devices like screws, belts,
and gears, which reduces space, energy, and cost. Linear motion systems are
created to move goods properly and smoothly in a vast range of applications
and usage. Thus, the linear motion system can be found in many sectors. In
February 2021, Thomson Industries, Inc., the U.S.-based linear motion system
manufacturer, launched the Electrak LL electric linear actuator, a durable
component designed to work in harsh conditions.
